Born From the Storm
The year was 2004 — the most destructive hurricane season in Florida history. Four major hurricanes. Six weeks. An entire state brought to its knees.
Charley. Frances. Ivan. Jeanne.
For the first time since 1886, four tropical cyclones produced hurricane-force winds in a single state in one season. Central Florida residents were hit again and again — and when the storms finally passed, thousands found themselves unable to seek safety in their own homes. The damage was simply too severe.
Rick and Michele Tauscher, residents of New Smyrna Beach, didn’t wait for someone else to fix it. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work alongside their community. And in doing so, they discovered something that would change the course of their lives — a need for a Florida hurricane roofing company it could actually trust.
After nearly seven years of hands-on experience, rigorous training and certification, Rick and Michele broke out on their own. In 2011, Sun Coast Roofing Services, Inc. was born — a family owned, Florida licensed roofing contractor built on one simple promise: to be there when Floridians need it most.
